Ink (silkscreen) on window, 2018
In May (2018) I spent ten days in Leeuwarden to work on a site-specific piece for Windowlicker, a vertical screen printing project that is being organised/curated by Stefan Hoffmann and the Leeuwarden based screen print collective Cowboy Killers (they print a lot for the legendary Vera Art Division). During the year 12 artists and designers will produce a piece on a window somewhere in the city center of Leeuwarden.
It was my first time screen printing and it was a wonderful experience, also in regards to possible developments for future works. In progress pics can be found at: Trendbeheer.com/2018/06/01/windowlicker-leeuwarden/
My piece consists of five sentences that each have their own color and that are spread out over three windows (starting with the left one). The colors refer to the colors that both Microsoft and Google use in their current – 2018 – logos: Red, Yelow, Green, Blue.
The work can be seen at Nieuwestad 5, it will stay up until the new owner decides to renovate the building.
Participating artists & designers: Mirjam Dijkema, Niels Post, Joris Diks, Henning Rosenbrock & Markus Mengeler (DE), Holger Stark & Tanja Zimmerman (DE), Mara Piccione & Tineke Meirink, Iwona Jarosz (PL) and Anuli Croon.
Announcements of who is working/exhibiting where and when can be found at: Facebook.com/WINDOWLICKER2018/
