An ongoing series in my On Spam project. Behind the scenes of Trendbeheer we have a spamfilter running that prevents the comment section from being flooded with special deals on new Uggs and cheap Rolex.
In On Spam, IP Address the sending computer is the subject-matter of the piece. For every order I receive I use the IP number of the latest spam message in my spamfilter -provided that the number hasn’t been used within this series before- and saw it into a sculpture.
A growing series of numbers representing only a fraction of the amount of computers worldwide that are used for sending spam. Makes for a wonderfull gift. In case you are wondering where in the world your ordered IP address originates from, you might have a look here.
