Site-specific installation for the exhibition Not in so many words at the Kröller-Müller Museum. An exhibition with artworks from the museum collection in which text plays a crucial role. The museum invited Guido de Boer, Fillip Studios (Roos Meerman & Tom Kortbeek) and myself to make a new work.
In the restaurant area of the museum there is a permanent small ticker board piece by Jenny Holzer. It is a very subtle piece in which a long sentence in red scrolls through a narrow screen. I thought it might be interesting to place a very long sentence sort of next to it. Starting in the muesum garden and making it’s way through the window into the building. And while you can stand in front of the Holzer, letting the text pass you by, you have to do a bit of walking to fully read my piece.
The exhibition featured about forty works by artists such as Robert Barry, Marcel Broodthaers, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Jenny Holzer, Joseph Kosuth, Bruce Nauman, Marc Ruygrok and herman de vries.
