Due to budget cuts the The Hague exhibtion space GEMAK will have to close it’s doors on December 4. They will do so with a one day only exhibition/debate/event/party that runs from 14:00 till midnight.
Between 16:00 and 18:00 I will take part in a debate/talk about the vulnerability and diversity of the art ecosystem in the Netherlands.
Other speakers will be Koen Kleijn (moderator); Arno van Roosmalen, chairman of De Zaak Nu & director of STROOM Den Haag; Birgit Donker, director of the Mondriaan Fund, Bianca Runge of Willem 3, Vlissingen (an institute that also had to announce its closure); Irene de Craen, director of Mariakapel & member of the board at Platform BK, and Joris Wijsmuller, The Hague’s alderman for Urban Development, Public Housing, Sustainability and Culture.
After the debate I will function as one of the tourguides for Hoogtij #43, the quarterly night of exhibition openings in The Hague. From underground spaces to established white cube.
Start and finish at Gemak, get there around 18:00 and you will also be served a free meal.
